Tobisho Secateurs - SR-1 - 200mm
Tobisho secateurs are hand forged from the world famous Hitachi Yasugi blue paper steel, deep in the Japanese mountains, in the town of Yamagata. Yamagata was established as a blacksmith town to produce samurai swords. Luckily as the demand for swords decreased the fruit industry took off, so the blacksmiths turned their skills and expertise in making blades to make secateurs instead. These secateurs are not only an example of master craftsmanship they are extremely good at doing what they are made for, pruning. The high quality steel and specialised forging techniques allow the secateurs to take an extremely sharp edge and importantly, keep it for a long time. The razor sharp blade minimises crushing and makes each cut easier, thereby reducing fatigue. The chunky clip is easy to use even with bulky gloves or cold wet hands. The red and yellow handles make them easy to locate day (red) or night (yellow) or can be removed to give a more traditional look and feel. When asked to name the world’s best tools, world famous gardener and BBC presenter Monty Don named these secateurs in his top five tools and once you have used them it is easy to see why. If you are looking for something special and a little different, without compromising function and practicality, these secateurs are for you.
