How to grow your own sprouts

  1. Wash and rehydrate beans by soaking in warm water for 12 to 24 hours* (with a water change at 12 hours).
  2. Drain beans and add beans to your chosen sprouter (jar, bag or tray).
  3. Rinse well two to three times per day for four to five days.
  4. Store well-rinsed and drained sprouts in the fridge.         

 

For Microgreens or wheatgrass

  1. Wash seed and rehydrate wheat seeds by soaking in warm water for up to 12 hours.
  2. Drain seeds and add seeds to your chosen sprouter (jar, bag or tray).
  3. Rinse well two to three times per day
  4. Repeat step three for four to five days.
  5. Store well-rinsed and drained sprouts in the fridge.        

Once the seeds have sprouted for at least two days:

  1. Line a tray with either organic soil, coir or paper towel.
  2. Cover tray evenly with a layer of sprouted seeds.
  3. Move tray into a well-lit area.
  4. Keep moist and use a nutrient or seaweed solution once or twice per week for superior growth.
  5. Cut when microgreens/wheatgrass are 10 to 15 centimetres high at around six to nine days after planting.
